I am a 40 year old mother to 5 beautiful children, Tori and Trista age 11, TJ age 9, Triniti 4 and Titus is 3. I began my fitness journey 3 years ago. On March 17th, 2015 I began the 21 Day Challenge with my coach that ultimately changed my life. For the past 3 years I have been practicing clean eating, proper portion control, fitness accountability and I am happy to say that I have kept off all the initial weight that I have lost. I not only love the community that Team Beachbody has given me but I have made some of my very best friends in the world. I found a fire that I didn’t realize was inside of me when I became a Coach. I truly fell in love with helping my customers reach their fullest potential and now I also help my team of coaches do the exact same thing. We have built an incredible tribe of women all over the United States, Canada and United Kingdom that are working to educate others on how to fuel their bodies with real whole foods and regular exercise. I truly want to help women ditch the dieter mentality and feel their absolute best.
I also have a desire to help other women in their business ventures. I have found myself drawn to speaking, training, guiding and mentoring other women to growing a business that helps them live out their purpose and passion as well. I get incredible joy out of seeing other people have ah-ha moments and reach their own level of success because of something that I said or did. I am blessed that my coach introduced me to this opportunity which has given me a platform and voice to carry out my God given talents. Never in a million years would I have expected that this small town mom from Peyton, CO would be living out her dreams because I said yes to a health and fitness company. Clearly God had a plan for me, long before I ever saw the vision.
Where it all began….
Let me take you back and pain the picture of my journey to ultimate health, fitness and freedom. After I had my fifth child Titus (February 2015) I was frustrated and depressed about the way my body looked and felt. I could not believe that I had let myself go the way that I did. After 5 kids, including twins, I had serious stretch marks, loose saggy skin, and suffered from anxiety and postpartum depression. I didn’t know where to start but I needed something because my lack of confidence was affecting my relationship with my husband, my confidence and my energy level with my kids. I was looking for a way to get in shape and shed those unwanted pounds from pregnancy but going to the gym was not in the budget at the time. I remembered a friend on Facebook posted about how she was a Team Beachbody coach, so I researched a program that I could do in only 30 minutes. I figured, what the heck I’ll give it a shot.

I signed up for a free Team Beachbody account and took before pictures and my measurements and began the challenge. I had borrowed Insanity from a friend and decided that would be my program of choice. The pictures alone made me want to hurl, so that was definitely my motivation to get in shape!
I started with Total Body Cardio on a Tuesday and just about fell over dead! But I decided from that moment on that I was going to give it everything that I had and make a change. I sat my husband down and explained to him how important this challenge was to me and that I needed to feel better about myself. I was 225 lbs and that was the heaviest I had ever been. My husband agreed to support me and watch the kids while I worked out. I managed to put the two little ones down for naps at the same time, I gave the older kids some independent school work and workout in the afternoon each day. After about 3 weeks I was hooked. I could see that my body was changing and I was able to do more push ups but I still couldn’t do the entire workout without stopping.
After 21 days I couldn’t believe how much better I felt. I lost 6 pounds in the first 21 days (I was so excited since my endocrinologist told me I would NOT be able to lose weight without weight loss meds due to my Hashimotos Disease)! I did an enormous over haul of my fridge and pantry and started cooking clean meals and planning out my weekly meals. You know what they say, “If you fail to plan it’s like you are planning to fail” and that is what I was doing. I had no understanding about nutrition and the quality of your foods. I really began to dig into Clean Eating and how to start creating a meal plan based on nutritional value of foods vs the calories and quantity. I saw a tremendous difference in the next 30 days and I wasn’t starving, actually I was eating MORE food than ever before. The secret is that it was the RIGHT kind of foods instead.
By the end of 2015 of 21 Day Fix I had lost 17 pounds and 32 inches overall. I loved eating clean and I was starting to have amazing energy every day. I began drinking Shakeology and didn’t have that afternoon slump like I used too. I used to take a nap every afternoon while my kids slept. Shakeology also helped me jump start my weight loss and shed the rest of the pounds. It has also helped with my digestion…I was ummm constipated ALL the time. Shakeology gave me 1 meal a day I didn’t have to think about which was afternoon snack. I used to eat whatever was in sight. Cookies, chips, all the things that were NOT helping me reach my goals. I literally grazed all day long and didn’t realize how bad it really was.
Shakeology allowed me to get the kids after-school snack and have my own quick and easy snack without having to make 2 totally different meals.
Now, I get up at 6:00 am to workout and eat 6 small meals a day with Shakeology being one of them. I feel the best that I have ever felt in my life. I have finished several programs! It’s an amazing feeling to look in the mirror and love the person that you are! I also became a Beachbody coach because I love the products and I have had such amazing results that I wanted to share my successes with others and help them to achieve their health and fitness goals to. I have been able to help so many people change their lives and get healthy! I have learned so much over the last 3 years and I want to share it with others! I truly have found my passion! I love exercising and eating clean. My family eats clean and they feel great too. Check back for updates on my fitness journey!
My Progress Updates
In March, 2016 I decided to try a program that was ONLY 22 minutes long! I loved that it alternated between cardio,weights, and core! The workouts were a challenge, but the awesome thing is that they were only 22 minutes! On days I didn’t want to workout, I told myself to do the warm-up and see how I was feeling. Before I knew it the workout was over! This program was 60 days long…and I did it! It was the longest program to date that I actually completed without giving up half way.
By November 2016, I was ready to try something completely new to me! I have 3 herniated disks in my low back so I have to be careful about what type of workouts I do. I was ready to push myself a little more. So I gave Core De Force my all! The meal plan was different than any program I had tried before…but I was in LOVE! For the first time in YEARS I was finally below 190 lbs! Not only was I seeing numbers on the scale that I hadn’t seen in years, my confident was through the roof! There is something empowering about kicking and punching that made me feel invincible!
The core work from this program allowed me to continue with NO back pain! Don’t underestimate the importance of clean eating and strengthening your body to help with daily aches and pains!
Body Best is where I found my first LOVE!! Lifting weights! Being pushed beyond what I thought was possible not only changed my body physically, but mentally. For too many years I played it safe…thinking I could only do cardio and had to restrict my eating. NOPE! I learned that carbs are NOT the enemy for those with thyroid issues. Yes, there is a difference between carbs, but too often they are given a bad rap and all classified in one category. Learning that food is FUEL to transform your body is key!
It’s a new year and I am so happy with my progress with Team Beachbody fitness programs and nutrition plans. In 2017 I really have leaned into the concept of making my fitness a lifestyle and not something that I am constantly looking at as a “diet”. I have found my balance and my flow with clean eating and fitness. I live a really well balanced life where I don’t look at my nutrition as restrictive but I look at it as empowering and freeing. I have a great foundation of knowledge on clean eating and I feel confident that I can have my occasional fancy coffee and treats and still rock any outfit that I would like.
I am started the newest program, 80 Day Obsession on Monday January 15th and I’m excited about going on an 80 day journey to rock my results. Be sure to check my back for my results!
